Helicopters, headphones, Encyclopaedia Britannica and bottoms - when have such an unlikely collection of bizarre objects created such an amazing television programme? Well of course we all know the answer to that - TREASURE HUNT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, that classic show returned to out TV screens in a brand new series this evening in a wonderful blaze of nostalgia and red leather :-) I have to say the programme *perfectly* encapsulates the feeling of the original - I really did sit there urging the Sky Runner on to find the next clue to win the prize at the end before the clock ran out, just as I did 10 plus years ago!!!

Suzi Perry (Anneka Rice's replacement) is a fantastic choice - only this time we have a sky runner with *guts*. In this edition (set in my home county of Kent) she actually told Dermot (Murnahan) and the contestants to "be quiet and listen" while she talked, and was actively gathering information for when she was on the ground looking for the clue, rather than Anneka who, as I recall, muddled through in a smear of lurid spandex!!!

My one gripe is the lack of the classic Treasure Hunt theme music - but as this is a BBC production (and the original was Channel 4) I had already prepared myself for this - instead a passable "re-arrangement" of the theme was used.

Dear Wincey Willis has been replaced with a computer screen that automatically plots the course of the helicopter - and perhaps the biggest irony is that the computer has more personality than Wincey ever did!!! :-) Actually I'm being rather cruel, as well all loved Kenneth and Wincey - but I really don't think that extra presenter is necessary any more, so it was a wise move to erase the position completely.

All in all, a great revival - I look forward to more episodes this week :-)

It’s bizarre, I’m prompted into updating my Blog this weekend simply because someone who I’ve never told about the Blog found it on their own and actually read it (hi Jonathan!!!)

It’s weird because all he did was enter some specifics into a search engine, (I Love Judge Dredd) and it happened to bring up my Blog, even though in this case I have not made direct mention to my work on "I Love Judge Dredd”, simply because I haven’t had time :-)

So for all those people out there who are looking for information on Big Finish’s Judge Dredd audio adventures, here they are for the search engines!

“WANTED: DREDD OR ALIVE”, “DEATH TRAP” “STRONTIUM DOG – DOWN TO EARTH”, “THE KILLING ZONE”, “THE BIG SHOT”, “TRAPPED ON TITAN”, “GET KARTER”, “I LOVE JUDGE DREDD” and as an extra special treat, the up and coming “DREDDLINE”

It’s been a hectic couple of (what’s it been now, weeks, months, years???) since I last updated the blog. Finished Get Karter eventually :-) and then went straight into post production on “I Love Judge Dredd”, a fantastic script written by Jonathan Morris, who amongst other things is a prolific author for the Doctor Who book range.

Essentially the title sums up the story, it’s a “mockumentary” with fabulously OTT characters in the style of Tony Blackburn, Alan Partridge, Jimmy Saville etc etc which follow’s Judge Dredd around as he “enforces the law”. Shameless rip off characters such as Marjory Household in the role of Campaigner for safer intercourse between humans and robots :-) all add fantastic charm to the script, and it has a real tongue in cheek wit (look out for a droid going by the name of Vinyl Plastiqpants!!!). Aside from the fact that it’s been a nightmare to work on, it’s been great fun – and I guess that’s the case for most things like this – Banging your head against a brick wall one minute, leaping for joy the next. And these moments of sheer exhilaration far outweigh the down side of it all :-)

My next CD may interest all you Thunderbird fans out there, as I am aiming to re-create the sound of the monotrains from episodes such as “The Perils of Penelope” and the “Brink of Disaster”. Why I head you ask!!? The next 2000AD release is entitled “Dreddline”, (written by James Swallow - from an idea by John Ainsworth) which is set entirely on a transatlantic zoom train, which was based amongst other things, on those episodes of Thunderbirds :-)

Bring it on!!!!!
