Who's a naughty boy?!!!!
I don't care - I've not had anything of any interest to say to anyone since the last time I posted :-)
But this evening....well.....this evening was the fatefull night of the Mascalls Former Pupils Association, where my hard work on the website would finally pay off. 5 replies out of 180 odd emails (no - not literally odd, although...) No - 5 replies is not quite what I'd hoped for, but hey there's not much else I could have done, aside from getting myself blocked from Friends Reunited again LOL
Anyway, as James couldn't be with us - lucky devil off sunning himself somewhere - I decided to drag my brother along for moral support. It kind of worked well, because it evened out the numbers at the meeting - 3 teachers, 2 middle aged former pupils, and 2 younger former pupils - leaving the school 10 and 4 years respectively.
Ironically the oldest former pupil is actually good friends with my aunty!!!!!! Small world - OK not when you consider we all went to the same school - but it is small when you consider on average there are 200 pupils per year at the school - they left in around 1960....so a quick bit of mental arithmatic (oh alright finding the calculator) gives me an approximate figure of 8000 pupils separating our years of attendance - and when you consider also that there were only 8 of us at the meeting, the chance meeting is more than you'd imagine!!!!
Anyway - the old committee wanted to stand down - so to keep the association open we formed a new committee. I am now officially the associations secretary.
*SILENCE* - well alright it might not be all that exciting but at least I can say I tried to help save the association if it all goes belly up, which is more than can be said for most of the people who are supposed members of the association!!!!!!
I have written my first minutes this evening from the meeting. Oh the sheer power!!!!!! Nah only kidding - I won't have real power for a few more minutes (geddit?) Still at least I'll have the pleasure of building and maintaining another website, which can't be a bad thing!! It'll test Nathan's, I mean MY HTML authoring skills again :-)
